2027: Peter Obi May Secure More Votes Than Atiku but Victory Not Guaranteed — Presidency

The Presidency, through President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has stated that Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi could secure more votes than former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2027 presidential election.

Bwala made the prediction during an interview with Symfoni TV, saying he believes Obi has the political strength to outperform Atiku in terms of total votes if the election were held.

However, he added that even if Obi receives more votes than Atiku, it does not automatically guarantee victory, noting that Nigerian politics is often unpredictable.

Bwala, who previously served as a spokesperson for Atiku’s presidential campaign, said the political landscape has changed significantly since the 2023 election. According to him, the influence of political candidates and parties continues to evolve as the 2027 election draws closer.

His remarks have reignited debate over who has the strongest chance of challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
